Chisholm woman charged after stealing over $13k worth of jewellery

A 30-year-old Chisholm woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, 11 January, on three charges after she allegedly stole jewellery from a Tuggeranong store.

Police will allege the woman, and a female accomplice, left the store on Monday afternoon, 9 January, without paying for a gold chain necklace valued at $8,999 and a gold pendant valued at $4,499, before leaving the area in a stolen grey BMW with a third person, a man, in the back seat.

On Tuesday 10 January, police executed search warrants at residences in Chisholm and Monash, and the woman was arrested about 6.30pm.

She will face charges of aggravated robbery (in company), driving a motor vehicle without consent, and breach of good behaviour obligation.

Enquiries are continuing into the accomplices, the location of the jewellery, and the stolen BMW. Anyone with information that may help police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website. Please quote reference 7320760. Information can be given anonymously.
