A fresh smile for Canberra: Q&A with Yarralumla Dental Care

Canberra’s dental community has welcomed an exciting new addition with the opening of Yarralumla Dental Care — a modern, patient-focused practice bringing gentle, high-quality dentistry to the heart of Yarralumla. We sat down with Dr Natasha Pajnigara and Dr Vidhi Patel, the passionate Principal dentists behind the clinic, to learn more about their vision, services, and what makes their approach unique.

Q: What inspired you both to open Yarralumla Dental Care?
Dr Pajnigara: We wanted to create a dental practice that feels genuinely welcoming — where patients are treated like family, not just appointments in a schedule. Yarralumla is such a wonderful, close-knit community, and we wanted to offer a space where people can receive excellent care in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Dr Patel: Yes, and we both share a philosophy of gentle, preventative dentistry. We believe in helping patients feel comfortable and informed at every step, so they actually enjoy coming to the dentist!

Q: What kinds of services do you provide?
Dr Patel: We offer comprehensive dental care for all ages — from general check-ups and hygiene treatments to cosmetic and restorative services like teeth whitening, veneers, crowns, and implants. We also provide traditional braces and clear aligners for straighter smiles.

Dr Pajnigara: We love treating families too — children, parents, and grandparents alike. Building trust early and helping kids develop good dental habits is something we’re both very passionate about.

Q: What makes Yarralumla Dental Care stand out?
Dr Pajnigara: Our focus on personalised care. Every patient has different needs and concerns, so we take time to listen, explain options clearly, and tailor treatments accordingly. We’ve also invested in modern dental technology that allows for more accurate, comfortable, and efficient care. We are here to offer affordable and painless dentistry to the community.

Dr Patel: And for us, communication is key. We want our patients to feel empowered to make informed decisions about their oral health — not overwhelmed by jargon or pressure.

Q: How do you help patients who are nervous about visiting the dentist?
Dr Pajnigara: We know many people feel anxious, so we’ve designed our practice to be calm and welcoming. We talk through every step, work gently, and move at the patient’s pace. We often hear from patients that their fear of the dentist fades after their first visit — and that’s the best feedback we can receive.

Q: How can people book an appointment?
Dr Patel: It’s easy! You can visit yarralumladentalcare.com.au or call (02) 6102 4257. We’re excited to welcome new patients and help Canberra smile brighter — one appointment at a time.
