ACT road toll to 18 after man dies in Kaleen crash

A 24-year-old man has died following a single vehicle collision in Kaleen last night, Saturday 22 October.  

About 10pm, police and emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Maribyrnong Avenue, Kaleen.  

The man was travelling northbound in a white Nissan Navara ute when the vehicle has struck a tree near Macumba Place and he sadly died at the scene.  

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are conducting an investigation into the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.   

This death brings the ACT road toll for 2022 to 18.  

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage from the area around the time of the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or on the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 7251113.    

This is the third fatal accident on ACT roads in October following a horror crash on Coppins Crossing that saw three Bangladeshi tourists lose their lives last week, while two teenage girls were killed in a single vehicle collision on the Monaro Highway earlier this month.
