ACT French restaurant, Les Bistronomes, was last night awarded one of three major awards at Australia’s Restaurant & Catering Hostplus National Awards for Excellence, at Doltone House in Sydney.
Marking the grand finale of an extraordinary year for the industry, more than 450 industry guests attended the event, which honoured the restaurants, cafés, and caterers setting the benchmark for quality, service, and consistency across the nation.
Recognising the Best in Australian Hospitality, The National Awards for Excellence celebrate achievement across more than 32 categories, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards presented to showcase the remarkable depth of skill and professionalism within the sector.
Winners of the evening’s three major awards were:
Restaurant of the Year – Les Bistronomes, Campbell, (ACT)
Caterer of the Year – Doltone House Sydney Town Hall, Sydney (NSW)
Casual Dining of the Year – Italia Lane, Fortitude Valley (QLD
Les Bistronomes also received another two Gold Awards in the European Restaurant and Premium Dining categories.
Les Bistronomes took to social media to share their excitement, writing:
“WOW! What an INCREDIBLE night for us at the National Restaurant and Catering awards last night! Les Bistronomes took GOLD in all of our categories including European Restaurant, Premium Dining and the elusive Restaurant of the Year!!” Les Bistronomes posted on Instagram.

Other ACT Gold Award recipients included Anatolia Mediterranean Restaurant in Wanniassa in the Specialty Restaurant category and Chartwells – Australian National University, Acton, in the Education Caterer category.
INKA Canberra, took out the Silver Award in the Asian Restaurant category and the Diplomat Bar & Grill at the Ramada by Wyndham, Griffith, received the Silver Award in the category for Restaurant in a Hotel or Resort.
Restaurant and Catering Awards (R &CA) CEO Suresh Manickam said the 2025 program show cased the strength and spirit of Australia’s hospitality industry.
“The 2025 Hostplus Awards for Excellence have been a defining moment for our industry. We’ve achieved record nominations, near sold-out events nationwide, and a national celebration that truly captured the heart of hospitality,” he said.
The 2025 Awards for Excellence recorded the highest number of nominations in R&CA history, with almost every state and territory’s awards night selling out.
Mr Maningham added, “These results reflect the loyalty, dedication, and talent that continue to drive our sector forward. We thank our partners, our members, and the R&CA team for their unwavering commitment to making these celebrations possible.”
