Capital Food Market to open in Belconnen this week

Capital Food Market, formerly Belconnen Fresh Food Markets, is opening its doors this Wednesday 13 December.

They are welcoming back a number of original favourites to the new precint, including Tomโ€™s Superfruits, Sea Harvest, Markets Meats, Knead Patisserie, Natural Living, Deli Cravings, Chicken Coop, and Book Passion.

Along with the established Belconnen foodie favourites, the refreshed market will also welcome a diverse range of new traders offering a variety of delights. These new faces make up part of the 40 traders who will call Capital Food Market home and include the likes of Three Mills Bakery, Gormans Florist, Asian Savoury, and Sweet Business Healthy Living.

“We recognise and pay tribute to Belconnen Marketsโ€™ history as a cornerstone of this community for
over 40 yearsโ€ Michael Baliva, Co-Head of Real Estate for Elanor Investors Group said. โ€œThe
new Capital Food Market will carry on this legacy for many decades to come, provide a unique food
offering for Canberraโ€™s residents and visitors to explore and enjoy all year round.โ€

To celebrate the opening, customers will receive their choice of a picnic set or charcuterie serving
board after they spend $50 across multiple transactions. Visitors will also enjoy live entertainment,
cooking demonstrations by Luciano from My Kitchen Rules, and kids face painting from Wednesday
13 December to Sunday 17 December, 10am – 2pm daily.

Completion of this multi-million-dollar project is a key milestone in the multi-stage plan envisioned by Elanor Investors Group for the 3-hectare site. The mixed-use precinct will encompass future stages comprising residential dwellings.

โ€œWe encourage our community to enjoy the new Capital Food Market hall, providing a place for shopping, leisure, enjoyment and local connection as we continue to introduce new fresh traders over the coming monthsโ€, says Baliva.
