Christine Holgate, group executive chairman of Team Global Express, will be the keynote speaker of the inaugural 2026 Vinnies Charity Dinner on Friday 20 March, supporting individuals and families experiencing hardship across the Canberra/Goulburn region.
Renowned for her leadership, resilience and advocacy, Ms Holgate’s story is one of courage, determination and transformation. From a homeless teenager, she rebuilt her life through the support of others, education, and finding stability and purpose.
“Vinnies’ work is deeply personal to me,” Ms Holgate said. “Its commitment to compassion, dignity and practical support changes lives. I’m proud to stand with them to help ensure more people can find a pathway forward.”
Her experience, combined with an extraordinary leadership career, reflects Vinnies’ mission of offering help, hope and opportunity to people doing it tough, and inspiring others to step up and do whatever they can to make a difference.
“We’re honoured to have Christine share her journey with our supporters,” Tony Allen, acting CEO of St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn, said. “Her story deeply resonates with the work our members and volunteers do every day to restore dignity and create pathways out of poverty.”
The Vinnies Charity Dinner will include a gourmet three-course dinner with premium hospitality; live entertainment and dancing with the Baker Boys Band; a live auction of unique experiences and exclusive items; an extensive online auction for more than 100 donated items; and a warm, uplifting atmosphere celebrating the power of community.
Funds raised through ticket sales, sponsorships and auction proceeds will go directly to support Vinnies’ local programs providing emergency assistance, food relief, and housing support to those in need.
