A female cyclist has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after a collision with a light rail vehicle in Lyneham on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 1pm near the intersection of Northbourne Avenue and Morphett Street. Emergency services responded quickly, and the woman was transported to hospital by ambulance.
ACT Policing said initial reports suggest the bicycle was clipped by the tram. The tram driver is cooperating with police and undergoing mandatory testing.
Northbound light rail services between Alinga Street and Dickson Interchange were temporarily replaced by buses, with services resuming around 2:30pm. One lane on Northbourne Avenue was also closed but has since reopened.
