Four charged with firearm and drug offences following vehicle stop in Goulburn

Four people have been charged with firearm and drug-related offences following a vehicle stop in Goulburn.

About 6.10pm, Thursday 16 November, officers attached to the Hume Police District and State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad stopped a Mercedes SUV at a service station on Lagoon Street in Goulburn.

A short time later, officers stopped a second car – a Toyota Rav 4 – nearby.

Both vehicles were searched, during which police located a dismantled shotgun, ammunition and prohibited drugs across both cars.

The occupants of the cars were arrested – a 35-year-old woman and three men aged 28, 31 and 33 – and taken to Goulburn Police Station.

The younger man was charged with three offences including two counts of use, supply etc stolen firearm or firearm part, and possess ammunition without holding a licence or permit.

The 31-year-old man was charged with use, supply etc stolen firearm or firearm part, and possess ammunition without holding a licence or permit and two counts of supply prohibited drug >indictable & < commercial quantity.

The older man was charged with five offences including four counts of acquire prohibited firearm part – subject to prohibition order and acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order.

The men were refused bail and appeared in Goulburn Local Court on Friday 17 November.

The woman was charged with possess prohibited drug and granted strict conditional bail to appear in Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 6 December 2023.
