Get to The Point: South.Point’s newest hangout is here

Brace yourselves, because Tuggeranong is about to get a whole lot livelier! ‘The Point’, South.Point’s new dining and entertainment precinct, is ready to take this summer by storm. Think good times, great food, and all-around fun.

So, what’s the scoop on The Point? South.Point’s former south courtyard has been transformed into a buzzing hub of entertainment and playtime. We’re talking a mezzanine beer garden, outdoor communal seating, two gigantic screens to watch sports, and a playground that’ll make kids jump for joy.

The precinct is set to be the perfect gathering point. Whether it’s a casual catch-up to watch the game, a quick bite while the kids expel energy or an evening sesh with live music, The Point has got you covered.

Unique foodie adventure

But hold on, it gets better! The Point isn’t just about slides and screens; it’s also a foodie adventure unique to Canberra.

South.Point has brought together several Canberra-born and loved food brands under one roof! Say hello to a lineup of local legends set to rock your taste buds.

Calling all fried chicken fanatics! Fricken Chicken is opening in a matter of weeks. They will bring all your favourites – from boxes, burgers and wings to salads and kids’ meals, with gluten-free and vegan options also available. Their secret crispy, juicy fried chicken recipe is a true masterpiece and has earned them a flock of loyal customers across the region. The family-owned business is excited to expand into the South, so bring your crew, grab some napkins, and dive into some fricken goodness.

Phat Panda is the Asian-fusion delight that has been wowing locals for years, and now they are back with a fresh look and expanded menu. Did someone say Gelato Baos? Yes, please! They offer food that comes from generations of culinary experience combined with a passion for experimentation. The owner, Luke, is a true Tuggers boy and is honoured to open Phat Panda in his home area, offering a flavour-packed experience you can’t get anywhere else in Canberra.

Biteful Kebabs is one of those gems – if you know, you know. Boasting an impressive reputation, it will be no surprise to regulars when Biteful Kebabs becomes a new go-to for first-time visitors. Their menu is a treasure trove of flavours, offering a taste of the Middle East right in the heart of Tuggeranong.

And while you may need to wait a little longer for the next one, you know it will be worth it. Get ready for the Boss of Burgers to open in early 2024, as Brodburger brings their new concept burger joint to The Point. You’ll find all your Brod faves plus some secret menu items (but not-so-secret anymore).

And they’re not just slinging burgers! They will also operate a mezzanine beer garden and bar, serving up an epic selection of local wines, beers, and spirits. Brod is set to keep the party going as they bring an array of events and music gigs to the space. It’s family-friendly vibes during the day and late-night good times after dark. And, of course, they’ll be giving out free burgers to celebrate opening day at their newest joint, so keep an eye on their socials for more details.

But wait, there’s more!

Also coming to The Point early next year is Prosecco Bar by Glamourous Nails, the first nail salon and bar to open in South Canberra. What better way to unwind than with a glass of bubbles while getting pampered!

And if all this wasn’t enough to keep the family entertained, Metaphysica Virtual Reality has got you sorted with various mind-blowing VR games, escape rooms and adventures through thrilling, immersive worlds. From the ocean’s depths to the outer reaches of space, there is fun to be had for the young and the young at heart.

With the introduction of The Point, locals won’t need to leave the area to enjoy great food and live entertainment in one place. But it’s not just for those who live locally. Those across the lake will have plenty of reasons to venture down south with the ongoing events, entertainment and live music that South.Point has in store.

Speaking of reasons to head to The Point, to celebrate the opening of the new space, get ready for the first Summerfest to be hosted by South.Point. Summerfest will see a suite of children’s activities held every weekend in January. There will be outdoor movie sessions, mini carnivals and stacks of giveaways. Sign up to the South.Point newsletter or follow their socials to keep updated.

This summer is sorted! If you are looking for a perch to watch the Big Bash, the A-League or just want a bite with friends, get to The Point.
