Little Athletics ACT doubles down for Sport Awards

Little Athletics ACT has doubled down as a finalist for two CBR Sport Awards, Innovation and Event Excellence, and is the only organisation to be selected as a finalist for two awards.

Little Athletics ACT is a finalist for the Award for Innovation, for online delivery of three programs throughout the COVID-19 lockdown. The Primary Schools Virtual Challenge, Stay Active Challenge, and Age Group Manager online training course filled the gaps in delivery of athletics in primary schools, the start of the Little Athletics season, and upskilled our dedicated volunteers. This showed innovation and quick thinking when it was needed to keep our athletics community engaged.

Little Athletics ACT are Athletics ACT are joint finalists for the Award for Event Excellence for the 2021 Festival of Athletics (Stromlo 5k and Bill Jacob Shield). The joint event had a large number of participants.

Matt Wade (Manager Growth & Development, Little Athletics ACT) said “From the track and field to the road, from the tradition to the non-traditional, from the junior, masters, community and elite athlete, it really had it all”.

The 2021 CBR Sport Awards ceremony will once again be a virtual event, to be held on Thursday 2 December 5.30pm. Click here to view all the finalists.
