A 51-year-old O’Connor man has been charged with murder after he allegedly fatally stabbed his mother yesterday morning.

About 8:45am yesterday, Thursday 14 May, police and emergency services were called to a residence on Dryandra Street in O’Connor following reports the man had allegedly stabbed his 79-year-old mother with a knife.

Sadly, she was declared deceased during transportation to hospital.

The 51-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital. He was later charged with murder.

The man’s father was also injured during the incident and was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The 51-year-old will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, Friday 15 May.
