A 20-year-old man has been charged with five offences after a hidden camera was located in a bathroom on Saturday.
On Saturday morning, 9 May, ACT Policing was called to a residential facility in north Canberra after a resident and staff located a device allegedly hidden inside a soap dispenser in a shared bathroom.
After engagement with the operators and some residents of the facility, a person of interest was identified.
Search warrants were then executed on the person’s room, electronic devices and vehicle with multiple items seized. An examination of the memory card located in the device identified a large volume of imagery stored on the card.
The 20-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged with five counts of intimate observations/capturing visual data. He is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today, Monday 11 May.
