Man charged over Sydney lockdown protest

Another man has been charged over the violent anti-lockdown protest in Sydney’s CBD last month.

Strike Force Seasoned investigators and the Riot Squad arrested the 25-year-old man at a Liverpool home in Sydney’s southwest on Wednesday.

Police say they seized clothing relevant to the investigation as well as prohibited drugs and anabolic steroids.

The man was charged with riot, assaulting police, two counts of not complying with noticed directions, supplying a prohibited drug and three counts of possessing a prescribed restricted substance.

Police will allege in court the man participated in the protest on July 24.

He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Thursday.
