Man charged with attempted murder following Chapman stabbing

A 33-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing last month in Chapman.

At about 8:40pm on 30 March 2025, the man attended his former partnerโ€™s home in Chapman.

While there, the man allegedly began arguing with a neighbour before pulling out a knife and stabbing him several times.

He then allegedly struck his former partner and kicked her in the face before taking her mobile phone and fleeing the scene.

Police and emergency services arrived a short time later and the man was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 33-year-old man was arrested on 2 April for unrelated offences and following an investigation by ACT Policingโ€™s Criminal Investigations, he has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated common assault and intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 29 April.
