Man dies after car rolls on Hume Highway near Marulan

An elderly driver has died and a passenger has been injured following a crash in southern NSW this afternoon.

At about 2:40pm on Thursday 29 January, emergency services were called to the Hume Highway at Marulan, near Goulburn, after reports that a car had left the roadway and rolled.

Officers from the Hume Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics and Fire and Rescue NSW.

The driver, a man believed to be in his 80s, died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The passenger, a woman also believed to be in her 80s, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to hospital.

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

Southbound lanes of the Hume Highway are affected, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
