A 31-year-old Chisholm man faces court today after his alleged reckless driving resulted in a single vehicle collision.
About 11.00am yesterday, Wednesday, 7 January, the man allegedly drove his white Mitsubishi Lancer at speed and wove in and out of traffic along Drakeford Drive in Bonython.
The man then allegedly lost control of the Mitsubishi Lancer, hit a kerb, rolled a number of times, flattened a pedestrian crossing handrail, and pulled a light pole from the ground.
About 11.15am police were called to the collision. They searched the man and seized two knives and an axe.
The man was arrested and transported to hospital with minor injuries. The man faces the ACT Magistrates court today charged with property damage, using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, possessing a knife without reasonable excuse, reckless driving, and a numberplate issued to another vehicle.
