McDonalds Tuesday nights to boost Vinnies Christmas appeal

From 24 November to 24 December, McDonald’s Braddon, Canberra City, and Canberra Centre restaurants will donate 20 per cent of all sales made between 5pm and 7pm every Tuesday to this year’s Vinnies Christmas Appeal.

Funds raised through this collaboration will support St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn’s vital local programs, providing food, clothing, and emergency assistance to people doing it tough across the Canberra and Goulburn region.

Last year, Vinnies Canberra/Goulburn supported 5,000 individuals and families through the Vinnies Emergency Helpline, providing $2 million in direct assistance.

The 2025 Christmas Appeal aims to raise vital funds to provide food hampers, tenancy support, and emergency relief to more families.

The Canberra community is encouraged to visit participating McDonald’s restaurants during the campaign and contribute to the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. Every purchase made during the promotional dates and times will help bring joy and relief to those who need it most.

Callum and Stephanie Barry-Murphy, franchise owners of three McDonald’s Canberra CBD restaurants, said: “We are proud to play an active role in the local community and support local groups and organisations that matter to our customers and make a positive impact. Our restaurants are places where people come together to enjoy a meal and share a happy moment, and we want that sense of connection to extend to those who need it most.”

Lucy Hohnen, CEO of St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn CEO, said the partnership reflects the spirit of generosity and solidarity that defines the community.

“We’re grateful to Callum, Stephanie, and the McDonald’s Canberra City restaurants for their commitment to helping local people in need. Together, we can bring hope and dignity to families this Christmas.”
