O’Connor woman charged with making nuisance calls

A 54-year-old O’Connor woman has been charged after making multiple non-emergency Triple Zero (000) calls overnight.

Last night, Sunday 25 May, the woman is alleged to have made 34 Triple Zero (000) calls for non-emergent matters.

About 11:30pm police entered the woman’s residence and arrested her.

The woman, who is on bail for similar alleged offending earlier this month, will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, Monday 25 May, charged with making vexatious calls to emergency services.

ACT Policing is reminding the community that It is an offence under ACT and Commonwealth legislation to make a false report to police and to cause police or other emergency service resources to be wasted.

Inappropriate use of the Triple Zero (000) number can delay emergency responses to those in genuine need.
