With teacher workloads at record highs and schools searching for ways to keep kids engaged, former primary school teachers Sarah and Manny Kechayas are taking their classroom creation Pevan & Sarah on the road for their fourth annual national tour.
Beloved by early-primary and preschool students, the duo will bring their iconic tiger Pevan and his energetic sidekick Sarah to Canberra on Wednesday 26 November at Erindale Theatre.
The 50-minute show blends music, laughter and learning in an interactive, action-packed performance that’s as entertaining as it is educational.
Pevan & Sarah are ‘edu-tainers’ who combine high-energy performances with meaningful learning. Their dedicated music and video platform Cub Club is enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of children and educators across Australia, earning them national recognition, multiple awards, and millions of views online.
Pevan & Sarah support educators by combining curriculum-aligned literacy and numeracy with social-emotional skills like teamwork, confidence, and resilience. The live performances give children a chance to sing, dance, and connect in ways that build joy around learning – while giving teachers and families a much-needed boost.
“We started Pevan & Sarah when we were teaching because we understood the impact that music can have on a child’s education,” Sarah Kechayas said. “We know how stretched teachers are, and our goal has always been to support them – whether that’s through our online videos, songs and resources, or by bringing kids together for a live, unforgettable learning experience.”
This year’s tour spans 27 locations across the country, with a strong focus on regional towns. For many communities, Pevan & Sarah’s visit is a rare opportunity for young children to experience a high-quality, curriculum-linked live performance close to home.
