Pilot survives Canberra plane crash

A pilot has survived a plane crash in Tharwa on Sunday afternoon.

ACT Policing said about about 3.35pm on Sunday 4 May emergency services were called to a private grass runway off Tharwa Drive, Tharwa following a light aircraft collision.

“A single engine fixed wing aircraft was found on its roof at the scene,” an ACT Policing statement said.

“The sole occupant, the male pilot, received minor injuries and was attended to by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics.

“Investigations into the cause of the collision are underway. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestoppers.com.au quoting P2347761.”
