Police nab young driver doing 169km/h on Majura Parkway

A 21-year-old Karabar man has had his licence suspended and will face court after he was caught doing 69km/h over the limit yesterday.

At around 10:15pm last night, Monday 20 October, an ACT Road Policing officer detected a blue Ford Ranger ute doing 169km/h in a signposted 100km/h zone on the Majura Parkway.

The officer issued the driver with an immediate suspension notice, suspending his right to drive in the ACT for a period of 90 days. The man will also receive a summons to attend court in relation to the matter.

ACT Policing continues their ‘Anywhere, Anytime’ approach to traffic law enforcement and would like to remind Canberrans that speeding remains one of the five main contributors to fatal collisions on our roads.
