Public feedback wanted on new ACT health centre

Canberrans can provide feedback on a proposed health centre in South Tuggeranong.

A greenfield site near Lanyon Marketplace in Conder has been chosen as the site for the twelve-room health centre, announced last month.

The ACT Government has launched a YourSay survey to gather feedback and insights from the community on what services they would like the new South Tuggeranong Health Centre to include.

Feedback from consumers and the local community will help to inform the clinical services and design of the centre.

Consultation on the design of health centre in South Tuggeranong is open until 1 December. The public can provide input online and through a series of face-to-face sessions. For more information and to take part in consultation activities, visit the YourSay page.

“The new health centre in South Tuggeranong is an example of the ACT Government’s commitment to delivering more health services, closer to home,” ACT health minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said.

“This centre will provide the people of South Tuggeranong with access to multidisciplinary services to treat a range of conditions. We are now working with the local community to identify the specific services they would like to include.

“Listening to consumers and the wider community is key in delivering services and infrastructure that meets the needs of our growing city. We have seen the great results of strong community engagement in the design of the Critical Services Building at Canberra Hospital and hope to achieve the same result with the new health centre.”

The South Tuggeranong Health Centre is the first of four new health centres. Another three centres will be built in the Inner South, North Gungahlin, and West Belconnen. Local communities will be able to provide feedback on them next year.
