Newstime Media recently had the chance to try out a range of Pyrex® products, and we were impressed by how affordable, useful and well-designed they are for everyday use. Here’s what we thought about each item:

Pyrex® Centurion Knives

• Slicing Knife 20cm (RRP $24): This knife makes carving larger cuts of meat, such as roasts, quite easy. It has a solid, balanced feel and slices thin, even pieces easily. The triple-riveted handle and bolster add a feeling of safety and confidence in your grip. A handy addition to the kitchen for the price.
• Serrated Utility Knife 14cm (RRP $20): Perfect for cutting bread, tomatoes, or other tougher-skinned produce. It feels sturdy and comfortable, and is a really versatile addition if you are looking for a serrated knife.
• Santoku Knife 17cm (RRP $23): We use this knife for most of the daily chopping and dicing that goes on in the kitchen and it gets the job done effectively. The hollow indents on the blade help stop food sticking, which speeds up prep time and keeps things neat.
• Paring Knife 9cm (RRP $13): Ideal for delicate tasks like peeling, trimming, and precision slicing. It’s lightweight but feels secure and comfortable, and is perfect for those smaller, fiddly jobs.

Pyrex® Large Glass Cutting Board (RRP $15)
This cutting board has built-in measurement guides that are handy for portioning, while the tough, stain-resistant glass means no lingering smells. Another positive is that it is super easy to clean. It feels like it has a bit of give in it when chopping, which can take some getting used to if you’re accustomed to chopping on more solid wooden boards.

Most people are familiar with the Pyrex containers and this one is a fantastic way to store, reheat or freeze leftovers and prepared meals. The glass is durable and the lids are leakproof and airtight, keeping food fresh. They transition smoothly from oven to freezer to dishwasher, making them a practical choice for busy households. The container is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe, while also being BPA free.
