Queanbeyan man almost faints after $1m Lotto win

A Queanbeyan man found that winning a $1 million lottery prize can have unexpected side effects after his big win left him feeling light-headed and in desperate need of a sit-down.

โ€œIโ€™m pretty good!โ€ he laughed when speaking to an official from The Lott.

โ€œHang on, Iโ€™m going to need to sit down for this!

โ€œWow! It feels great.

โ€œI went in on Saturday and they told me the prize was over $1,000 so they couldnโ€™t pay it over the counter.

โ€œSo, I went online and started checking off my numbers. Iโ€™m counting them and Iโ€™m thinking, โ€˜Oh s***! Iโ€™ve got all six! Iโ€™ve got all six!โ€™.

โ€œI had to sit down. I thought I was going to faint.

โ€œOnce I knew, I told my children. Theyโ€™re very happy for me.

โ€œItโ€™s going to set our family up. Iโ€™m much older and Iโ€™ve never owned a home.

The manโ€™s winning 15-game entry was purchased from Queanbeyan City Newsagency & Lotto, and the store manager said he was overjoyed to have sold a winning entry and had decorated the store to celebrate.
ย
โ€œHearing that our outlet has sold a division one winning entry is a moment of great excitement and pride!โ€ he said.
ย
โ€œCongratulationsย to our winner on your incredible win. We are thrilled that our outlet played a part in your life-changing moment.
ย
โ€œWe wish you all the very best. May your winnings bring you happiness, and success. We hope you enjoy every moment.โ€
