Raiders pounce on Panthers

The Canberra Raiders bounced back from their loss to the Manly Sea Eagles with a 30-12 win over the Penrith Panthers at McDonalds Park, Wagga Wagga on Saturday 4 May.

Over the next two weeks the Green Machine has the opportunity to prove their premiership credentials with clashes against the Roosters and Rabbitohs.

However, the task will be made harder with John Bateman out for 6-8 weeks after it was confirmed he will require surgery on an eye-socket fracture. The Raiders take on the Roosters on Sunday 12 May at Suncorp Stadium as part of the NRL’s Magic Round.

Brave dealt first loss

The CBR Brave recorded their first loss of the Australian Ice Hockey League season, going down 4-3 to the Sydney Bears on Saturday 4 May at the Brave Cave, Phillip.

The Brave head to Perth this week to take on the Thunder in two games on 11-12 May. The Brave will be back at home on 18 May to face the Sydney Ice Dogs. Tickets available at shop.cbrbrave.com.au
