Recidivist teens arrested for crime spree

Three teenagers have been arrested after a series of burglaries, payWave offences and dangerous driving behaviours throughout Canberra.

On Tuesday, ACT Policing received reports of two residential burglaries and one commercial burglary in which credit cards, a silver Hyundai i20, a blue Isuzu ute, and a white Hyundai Tucsan were stolen.

These credit cards were used in payWave offences throughout Canberra, and the vehicles failed to stop for police the following day.

Police located the suspected teens at a residence in the Belconnen area.

On Wednesday afternoon, the police arrested two 14-year-old boys for their involvement, and for breaching their bail conditions. One of these boys has also been charged with possessing stolen property.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested for payWave and vehicle offences.

The police are continuing their investigations into these offences and similar offences throughout Canberra.

All three boys are expected to face the ACT Childrens Court today.

Police urge anyone who may have information that may help in the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
