Ricky Stuart Foundation to be served donation from tennis tournament

The annual Scarlett Slam Table Tennis Tournament returns today, Friday 14 October. The corporate sporting day sees teams paddle it out to be crowned the ultimate Table Tennis Champions while raising money for the Ricky Stuart Foundation.

The Ricky Stuart Foundation has supported people living with autism and their families since 2011. Its commitment to raising awareness about the disorder plays a vital role in the Canberra community.

Scarlett Financial‘s first Scarlett Slam held last year raised an impressive $60,000. More than 120 participants hit the tables, supervised by world sporting superstar presenter, Stephen Peios. True to their word, they ensured the event was and continues to be inclusive, welcoming anyone with any ability to join the teams.

Scarlett Financial is a Canberra-born business, advising people on how to make the most out of their financial situation. Even though the company has spread further afield, its heart remains in Canberra and with its local community. The business has two clear goals, according to director, Domenic De Marco.

“One, to provide as much money and support as we can to a local charity that’s close to our organisation, and two, to put on an exciting charity day that absolutely anyone could get involved in,” Mr De Marco said.

“Inclusion and acceptance is at the heart of the Ricky Stuart Foundation, and we’re grateful to see that this philosophy is shared by Dom and team at Scarlett Financial,” Ricky Stuart said. “Having a fundraising event which focuses on bringing people together, regardless of their ability, is an integral part of our partnership.”

Miranda Garnett, CEO of the Ricky Stuart Foundation, said the charity is thrilled to be working with the finance company again.

“It is because of organisations like Scarlett Financial and their commitment to the community that we’re be able to begin our next project, an autism awareness education program to be piloted in ACT schools,” Ms Garnett said.
