The lead up to the 2025 Spilt Milk is underway, with festival organisers releasing line-up hints on TikTok.
The 2024 festival, which was scheduled to run in November, was cancelled. It came after Groovin’ the Mooโs Canberra show in April that year was also cancelled.
On Monday 6 April, a simple message was posted in the festivalโs Instagram broadcast channel, tea time, to its almost 15,000 members: โhi.โ
On the same day, a poll was created for people to vote on the: โFirst order of business: Spilt Milk fandom nameโ with more than 4,700 votes getting Creamers over the line by a mile, over Spillybillies, Milkyโs Milkers and Dairy Queens.
Another update later that day teased โlots of tea to sip on soonโ.
By the following day, tickets were being offered, even before the line-up and date had been released, for people whose footage from the 2023 festival made it into a reel, which was put together by the organisers.
The video was shared on Wednesday, and by Thursday, an update said the first artist hint would be released.
โOR was THIS actually the first artist hint?????โ followed.
By Friday morning, 11 April, the organisers said one person had guessed an artist right and the link to the TikTok video was posted in the channel. Another message said the video had โexactly 4-6 artist references in hereโ.
Accompanied by music and sporting the caption โyummy lineup for dinnerโ, punters were invited to guess who the artists were with the following (very cryptic in my opinion) clues: some protein, vegetables for health reasons, dark spirits to enrich the flavour, DASH OF FKN TECHNO, Some more protein, And fibre? And YUMMY.
Further clues given by the organisers in the comments said: โone is a song title, one is contextual, one is techno, one is a band name, and one is to throw you off.โ
Some of the artists people have guessed so far include Hozier, Remi Wolf, Doechii, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kendrick Lamar, Fisher, Skrillex, and the OG Wiggles.
