Teen motorcyclist injured after log left on road in Ngunnawal

ACT Policing is appealing for witnesses or dash-cam footage following a motorcycle collision in Ngunnawal last week, believed to have been caused by a wooden log deliberately placed on the road.

At approximately 10:30pm on Wednesday 8 January, police and emergency services responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Mirrabei Drive.

The 17-year-old rider struck a large wooden log lying across the northbound lane, causing him to be thrown from his motorcycle. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon arrival, police observed the log on the roadway and suspect it was intentionally placed there.

Anyone who observed suspicious activity on Mirrabei Drive prior to 10:30pm on Wednesday evening, or has dash-cam footage from the vicinity, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
