Football Australia has announced that Australiaโs women’s national football (soccer) team the Matildas will play a match in Canberra later this year.
The Matildas will host Argentina in a two-match international series during the May/June FIFA Womenโs International Window.
The series finale match at GIO Stadium Canberra, made possible through a partnership with the ACT Governmentโs Events ACT, will run on Monday, 2 June at 7:30pm.
Another match will run in Melbourne, with both events giving fans across Australia the opportunity to support the Matildas as they continue their preparation on the road to the AFC Womenโs Asian Cup 2026.
There are hopes Sam Kerr, who is currently sidelined by an ACL injury, will play in Canberra.
