A 25-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision on the Monaro Highway this morning, marking the ACT’s first road fatality of 2026.
About 11:30am today, Friday 9 January, police and emergency services received reports of a collision between a car and a truck near the intersection of the Monaro Highway and Royalla Drive.
The driver of the car was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics before being transported to hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, he was declared deceased this afternoon.
ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances of the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
