ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after two young people were charged following an assault at a fast-food restaurant in Manuka.

About 2:30pm on Sunday 23 August, five young people entered the restaurant and were subsequently asked by staff to leave due to their disruptive behaviour.

Police will allege the group refused to leave and demanded food before some of the young people entered the service area and assaulted staff. One employee sustained facial injuries as a result.

The incident was reported to police later that afternoon, and on Tuesday 25 August, police arrested a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy who were allegedly involved. Both will face the ACT Children’s Court next week charged with aggravated burglary.

Police are continuing enquiries to identify the remaining young people involved, and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about those involved.
