A few days after the surprise axing of Ned & Josh, Amplify CBR have announced Wilko & Courts will be returning Canberra radio together to take over the Hit 104.7 Breakfast Show slot in January 2024.
Wilko & Courts were a popular duo in Canberra when they held the top spot in the drive slot, and Courtenay ‘Courts’ Kneen says she’s eager to return to the nation’s capital.
“I was already so excited to return home to Canberra after two years away, but to be coming back to my dream job with my dream on air co-host? Well, that’s the cherry on top!” said Kneen.
Neil ‘Wilko’ Wilcock added he was excited to be back with his partner in crime.
“I planned to be back in Canberra for a couple of years and as is the case with many of us you blink and boom it’s coming up on 7 years! Canberra is now home, and I’m stoked to get back to a how with my best friend and keep breakfast radio local in the Canberra region,” said Wilcock.
The announcement comes just a couple of days after it was revealed the previous breakfast duo of Ned & Josh had been axed after their show on Friday 27 October without prior warning.
The decision to let Ned & Josh sparked plenty of backlash from loyal fans who were upset the pair were let go without being able to say goodbye.
A petition has even been created to bring back Ned & Josh that has over 140 signatures so far and several comments in support of the duo.
