31-year-old man arrested after Gungahlin burglaries

ACT Policing has charged a 31-year-old man with several offences and recovered stolen property following a series of burglaries in Gungahlin.

About 6:30pm on Wednesday 26 June, police attended a business premises in Gungahlin that had been burgled however the offender had already fled the scene.

After speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage, police identified the offender and a 31-year-old man was arrested yesterday 27 June, at a residence in Gungahlin.

Police allege the man is also responsible for stealing items from storage cages and damaging several vehicles in an apartment garage in Palmerston on 26 May this year.

He has been charged with aggravated burglary, minor theft, property damage, unauthorised entry of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.

A number of stolen items, including power tools, electronic devices and personal documents, were recovered.

Some of the stolen items were able to be returned thanks to identifying marks owners had placed on their tools.
