A 27-year-old alleged child sex offender will face the ACT Magistrates and the ACT Children’s Court today, Wednesday 7 September, charged with 72 counts of incest and related child sex offences.
With assistance from NSW Police, ACT Policing Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team (SACAT) Detectives arrested the alleged offender at their residence in north-western Sydney on Monday 5 September and have been granted the extradition of the person to the ACT to face these charges.Â
Police will allege that the person violently sexually offended against their biological juvenile sisters in a southern Canberra suburb over a period of seven years between 2006 and 2013.
Police will allege the majority of the offences were committed when the offender was a child but two offences will be heard before the ACT Magistrates Court.
ACT Policing encourage anyone that has been subject to sexual violence to report that to police by attending a police station or calling 131 444. People also have the option to submit an online report for historical matters that occurred more than six months ago.
