Police investigating after car collides with Palmerston home

ACT Policing is investigating an incident where a vehicle collided with a home in Palmerston late last night, 24 February.

About 10.20pm ACT Policing received reports of the incident, where the homeowner was inside but uninjured.

When officers arrived, they located the vehicle and its owner approximately 100 meters away from the home.

The owner appeared highly intoxicated and refused to undergo a roadside screening test or identify the driver at the time of the collision.

The two passengers involved, believed to have been in the vehicle at the time of the collision fled the scene.

ACT Fire & Rescue attended the home to make it safe and police seized the vehicle for forensic testing.

The vehicle owner was arrested and was charged with refusing to undergo a screening test and failing to provide a breath sample.

Anyone with any information that can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote 7361655. Information can be provided anonymously.
