Damien Leith is set to take the stage this November 30 with his famous โRoy Orbison Orchestratedโ shows, paying tribute to the late, great Roy Orbison.
The popular singer-songwriter will perform on at the Canberra Theatre Centre, featuring elegant and uplifting arrangements of Orbisonโs timeless classics.
Joining the award-winning performer will be a 28-piece concert orchestra taking the audience on a nostalgic journey through Orbisonโs unforgettable hits. The show will be masterfully arranged and conducted by Australiaโs 2022 Young Composer winner, Emma Greenhill.
Damienโs career has been inextricably linked to Roy Orbison, since his performance of his hit โCryingโ on the 2006 series of Australian Idol. Capturing the attention of Orbinsonโs wife Barbara, it was her wish for Damien to carry on her husbandโs legacy with his powerful renditions of the Big O’s songs. He went on to record the album โRoyโ which was produced by Barbara.
“It’s always an honour to perform Roy’s songs and I can’t wait to do it again later this year,” Damien said.
Damien is also currently on his โThrough the Yearsโ tour, showcasing of all of his work since 2006, featuring a mix of original and also classic hits. His new single โSuperhumanโ has been a huge hit on the tour.
