A woman has died and a man and two children have been taken to hospital after a house caught fire in Orange this morning.
Emergency services were called to the home on Pimpala Place about 5.45am, Saturday 3 June, and found the building well-alight.
A man had escaped the blaze but suffered burns when attempting to re-enter the home.
Officers from Fire and Rescue NSW entered the building and rescued two children; they were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics suffering the effects of smoke inhalation. The three are now in Orange Base Hospital.
A short time later, firefighters located a woman in the front room; however, she was unable to be revived.
All four are from the same family.
A crime scene has been established; specialist fire investigators and scene of crime officers will enter the building when it is deemed safe. As a consequence, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Inquiries are now underway by detectives attached to Central West Police District.
