100 of 106 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in ACT have recovered

A total of 100 of the ACT’s 106 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have recovered and been released from self-isolation as the ACT again recorded no new Coronavirus cases overnight, to 1.30pm today, Monday 27 April. Meanwhile, more than one million people reportedly downloaded the Australian Government’s COVIDSafe tracing app in its first few hours yesterday.

There is currently one COVID-19 patient in a Canberra hospital. They are in a stable condition. Two remaining cases are isolating at home with ACT Health support.  

The ACT has recorded three deaths.

The number of negative tests in the ACT is now 7,996.

As at 6am today, nationally there have been 6,713 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Australia, of which 83 have died and 5,558 have been reported as recovered. More than 510,000 tests have been conducted across Australia.

NSW is the jurisdiction with the most number of cases, with 3,004 confirmed cases, followed by Victoria with 1,349 cases.

ACT Health is continuing to take appropriate public health action in line with national guidelines.  

ACT Health continues to advise that “it’s important for Canberrans to remain calm and keep informed, and to keep focussed on the practical things we can all do to protect ourselves, our families and the most vulnerable in our community”.

The ACT Government has also established a helpline to assist Canberrans through the challenges of COVID-19. The COVID-19 Helpline operates on 02 6207 7244 between 8am and 8pm daily.

Canberrans are encouraged to stay up to date on developments through the COVID-19 website, as well as ACT Health social media channels.  

People who are concerned and want further information on the virus, can also call the Australian Government’s Coronavirus Health Information Line on1800 020 080. The line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
