A 17-year-old female P-plate driver has died today in a two-car crash on the Princes Highway at Bergalia, 10km south of Moruya, on the NSW South Coast.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of the Princes Highway and Bingie Road, Bergalia, at around 12.45pm today following reports of a car crash.
Police have been told a silver Toyota Yaris hatchback was travelling west on Bingie Road at Bergalia, before turning onto the Princes Highway, where the hatchback and a white Mercedes van collided.
The teenage driver died at the scene.
The 62-year-old male driver of a van involved in the car crash sustained minor injuries and has been taken to Moruya Hospital for mandatory testing.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
As inquiries continue, anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police immediately.
A report will now be prepared for the information of the coroner.
Traffic remains affected in in both directions with only one lane of the Princes Highway currently open. Stop/slow traffic controls are in place to let motorists travel through the area one direction at a time.
