19yo man charged after alleged sexual assault in Canberra City

A 19-year-old man from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has been charged with five counts of sexual intercourse without consent after an incident in November 2021.  

The man attended City Police Station yesterday, Thursday 21 April, where he was arrested.  

ACT Policing said it will be alleged the man accompanied a woman to her residence in Canberra City from a nightclub early in the morning of Friday 26 November 2021. Police will also allege the man had sexual intercourse with the woman without her consent. 

The man is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates court today, Friday 22 April.    

ACT Policing encourages anyone who experiences sexual violence to contact police.
