Australian paint brand Dulux has revealed the Dulux Colour Forecast 2019: Filter – it’s all about “stillness, simplicity and honesty”.
According to Australian paint brand Dulux, we can expect to see “organic shapes, frayed edges contrasting textures and re-purposed vintage” in interiors next year, against a backdrop of “earthy naturals, saturated greens and citrus brights”.
Dulux has revealed their Dulux Colour Forecast 2019: Filter, which draws together neutrals, bright and deep hues to form four themed palettes: Repair, Wholeself, Legacy and Identity.
Dulux colour expert, Andrea Lucena-Orr, says the Filter theme speaks to “our collective craving for individuality and personal expression”.
“It helps us mindfully tap out all the distractions and focus on the things that move and inspire us.
“Our confidence with colour is growing, and with this the drive to create spaces that reflect our history, hopes and dreams. Mindful consumption is a key theme for 2019 and we can expect to see a paring back of the unnecessary and a greater emphasis on repurposing and reimagining objects surrounding us. The result is a new kind of bespoke where the traditions of the past are celebrated in dynamic and modern ways.”
The Repair palette is a collection of earthy neutrals, rich greens and notes of cinnamon and sienna; the Wholeself palette features whites and cool, neutral tones; Legacy is more intense, with deep purple, russet, aqua and brown-based pinks; and Identify features colours that clash: bright blues, purples and citruses.
“Whether you choose to go all-out and paint an entire room or simply add some accents, you’ll be amazed at the transformative effect of colour,” Andrea says.
