Season so far and run home

Raiders 10th | 300 points for | 337 points against | 8 wins & 9 losses | WLWLW

The Raiders are coming off a brilliant 20-16 win over the Storm last week that has helped keep their finals hopes alive.

It was a gritty performance from the Green Machine, surviving a couple of injuries and a second half sin bin to snatch an important victory.

The Raiders have gone WLWLWLW over their last seven matches, so they’ll need to find a way to string some wins together in the home stretch to stay in the race for finals.

They will likely have to win five of their last seven matches to qualify for finals, so Canberra simply cannot afford to drop this one.

Warriors 12th | 288 points for | 463 points against | 5 wins & 12 losses | LWLLL

Since starting the season 3-2, the Warriors have won just two of their last 12 and are well and truly out of the finals race.

It’s been a tough three years away from home for the Kiwi side and it was great to see them return to Mt Smart Stadium with a win over the Tigers a few weeks ago.

They don’t really have much to play for over the concluding stages of the season, but they always seem to give the Raiders a bit of trouble, especially with Shaun Johnson in the side.

Last 5 meetings and GIO Stadium history

  • 2022 round 8: Warriors 21 – 20 Raiders at Moreton Daily Stadium, Redcliffe
  • 2021 round 24: Warriors 16 – 28 Raiders at BB Print Stadium, Mackay
  • 2021 round 3: Raiders 31 â€“ 34 Warriors at GIO Stadium
  • 2020 round 19: Raiders 26 â€“ 14 Warriors at GIO Stadium
  • 2020 round 2: Warriors 6 – 20 Raiders at Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast

The Raiders have won three of the last five matchups against the Warriors, although the Kiwi side got the better of their previous clash this year.

Canberra started that game the better of the sides and led 20-12 at half time, but came out flat in the second half as the Warriors made the most of a lucky call to get the win in golden point.

The last ten meetings played in Canberra are split evenly at 5-5. The Warriors have won three of the last four at GIO Stadium, although they’ve all been close with margins of 3, 4 and 1.
