20yo man charged for vandalising War Memorial and ABC building

A 20-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this afternoon after allegedly vandalising the Australian War Memorial and the ABC Canberra building earlier this year.

Police will allege the man spray-painted slogans related to the Israel-Palestine conflict on the exterior of the ABC Canberra building on Northbourne Avenue on four occasions in February and March.

The man also allegedly spray-painted slogans on the exterior of the Australian War Memorial (AWM) in June.

Following an investigation where police released CCTV footage from the AWM incident, the man attended Gungahlin Police Station this morning, Thursday 26 September.

He was arrested and charged with five counts of damaging property.
