21 new COVID-19 cases in Southern NSW, 11 in Queanbeyan

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded 21 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, with 11 in the Queanbeyan area.

Of the 11 cases in the Queanbeyan-Palerang region, eight have been linked while three are under investigation. Seven of the cases are in Karabar, two are in Queanbeyan, one is in The Ridgeway and one is in Wamboin.

The Snowy Monaro region recorded another seven cases with six of those linked. Five of them are in Cooma with one in Bredbo and one in Jindabyne.

Three new cases were identified in Beauty Point in the Eurobodalla region and they have all been linked to known cases.

There have now been 271 total cases in the area since the start of the outbreak in June.

The areas within the SNSWLHD that have active cases are Queanbeyan-Palerang (101), Goulburn (53), Eurobodalla (36), Yass (13) and the Snowy Monaro region (32).

There are still currently eight people in hospital with the virus.
