345 COVID cases in Southern NSW, 74 in Queanbeyan

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded a daily high of 345 COVID cases with 74 of those in Queanbeyan.

It is a rise of over 200 on yesterday’s 124 COVID cases in Southern NSW.

Despite the rise in cases, the number of people in hospital has remained at just two, while 86 people are under active care, down from 99 yesterday.

There are now 1,445 active COVID cases in the SNSWLHD with the total number of infections up to 2,138 since the start of the outbreak in June.

The Queanbeyan Palerang LGA recorded 76 new COVID-19 cases.

Bega Valley LGA has 80 new infections.

Goulburn Mulwaree LGA recorded 45 new cases.

Yass Valley LGA reported 23 COVID-19 cases.

Snowy Monaro LGA has 73 new COVID infections.

Eurobodalla LGA has 33 new cases.

Upper Lachlan reported 17 new cases.

The news comes as NSW recorded 35,054 total COVID-19 cases along with eight virus-related deaths.

Meanwhile, the pricing and distribution of rapid antigen tests will be discussed at a national cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

“There is no dollar figure that we will not put on the table to ensure, as we move through this next phase, rapid antigen tests are available to anybody right across the state who needs one,” NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet says.
