A 35-year-old Kambah man arrested last night while on bail, will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, Saturday 18 February, on 17 charges.
On Friday 10 February, a search warrant executed in Kambah located evidence ACT Policing will allege connects the man to a burglary and other offences committed in Fyshwick on 6 February.
About 10pm last night, officers on patrol approached the man in Weston Creek and found him to be in possession of the keys to a VW Golf. They arrested him for being in breach of bail, as one of the man’s bail conditions was not to be in possession of motor vehicle keys.
The Golf was located nearby with number plates affixed that had been reported stolen on 16 February. Police will allege it had been used in several incidents where fuel was stolen from service stations.
The man will face 17 charges including make off without payment, burglary, minor theft, obtaining property by deception, two counts each of disqualified driving, using an unregistered vehicle, using an uninsured vehicle, and three counts of both using a number plate not properly issued, and unlawful possession of stolen property.
