Today, Thursday 20 October, 38 local business women were announced as finalists in the 2022 Synergy Canberra Women in Business (CWB) Awards.
The winners, who stretch across six categories, will be announced at the annual Gala Awards event, which will be held in the ballroom at QT Canberra next Thursday 27 October.
The six categories include:
- Business Woman of the Year
- Young Business Woman of the Year
- Indigenous Business Woman of the Year
- Small Business Woman of the Year
- Social Impact Business Woman of the Year
- Innovation Business Woman of the Year
CWB president, Sheena Ireland, said the committee and judges were overwhelmed with the number of applications received, along with the high calibre of applicants.
“We have such committed and talented businesswomen in Canberra,” Ms Ireland said.
“Many of these businesses have worked hard for their survival over recent years following the impact of hailstorms, fires in our region and, of course, a global pandemic.
“What we see, year after year, from Canberra’s women in business is passion and tenacity, and those themes are a constant again this year,” she said.
“We thank everyone who was nominated and/or applied for this year’s awards.”
CWB also announced a new Platinum sponsor for the 2022 Awards, Synergy Group Australia.
Tickets are currently on sale for the Gala Awards event, available at cwb.org.au/event/synergy-cwb-gala-awards-2022/
