495 new COVID-19 cases in the ACT

The ACT has recorded 495 new COVID-19 cases and no deaths in the latest update as Canberra approaches 50,000 total infections since the pandemic began two years ago.

There are 43 people in hospital with the virus, none are in intensive care or requiring ventilation.

There are now 3,922 active cases in Canberra.

The ACT has recorded a total of 49,088 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic and 33 virus-related deaths, representing a death rate from the virus of 0.067 per cent.

Two-thirds (66.6 per cent) of ACT residents aged 16 and over have received three doses of a COVID vaccine, while 78 per cent of children aged between 5 and 11 have received one dose.
