55yo man dies as ACT records fifth road death for 2024

Sadly, a 55-year-old Torrens man has died following a collision on Athllon Drive last week, raising the ACT’s road toll to five for 2024.

About 7:30am on Thursday 23 May, police responded to reports of a collision on Athllon Drive, Wanniassa, between a motorcycle travelling southbound and a red Mitsubishi travelling northbound just before the intersection with Sulwood Drive.

Police and emergency services attended, with ACT Ambulance Service paramedics treating the man โ€“ the motorcyclist โ€“ at the scene before transporting him to hospital in a serious condition.

Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday 25 May.

ACT Policingโ€™s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
